Dallas has always been so careful and so correct while being such a joy to be around. One of the first manifestations of his personality was his great concern for the well being of others, his truly nurturing spirit. Cousin Hilary, next on the scene, nearly drove him nuts. She was curious, daring and had no caution. Dallas said, a thousand times I'll bet, before he could hardly even talk, "Hily making me nevous (nervous) she too close to......" the road, the water, the stove, the edge of whatever or wherever she was and she always ran too fast for Dallas. He didn't like those he loved to be hurt.
When he was about four he learned one of life’s most profound lessons as Hilary was prepared for her first dance performance at a Drill Competition at Utah State University. He excitedly watched and everyone ooood and aaahd as Hily's hair was turned out in a huge mass of red blond curls tumbling down her back, make up was so carefully applied, and her dazzling costume sparkled and glittered, then he stepped back and stated in his deep serious voice, "it's obvious that if you want any attention around here you better be a girl". He still loves her and still wants only the very best for her.
That precious heart opened up to include all the rest of us family and friends with the same love and concern. His parents and siblings are especially loved, cared for, and nurtured by his great capacity to love. Now that heart is blessing the people he rubs shoulders with at the mission home and pretty soon those dear folks in the Guadalajara East Mission will be blessed by his presence.
Meanwhile we, family and friends miss him greatly, pray for him constantly, and are so thankful he has chosen to heed the call of the spirit to serve the Lord with all his might and strength. Love you Dallas
